Your washing guide for the different hijab fabrics
Your hijab collection probably consists of various types of fabrics. No matter what material they’re made of, you want them to stay beautiful for a long time. The fabric of your hijab determines how it should be cared for. That’s why we’ve created a list of the fabrics from our collections and how to care for them properly — so you can enjoy them for many years to come.
SAND CRÊPE
If your hijab or khimar is made of sand crêpe, the fabric has a light texture. Use the delicate or hand wash setting on your washing machine and wash the hijab with similar colors. Hang it to dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the area directly with a stain remover.
JERSEY
One of the most comfortable and commonly worn fabrics is jersey. It’s soft, breathable, and fully opaque. Wash the jersey hijab in the machine at 30°C (86°F) with similar colors. Hang it to dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the area directly with a stain remover.
TENCEL
Tencel is a glossy fabric that feels heavier and firmer than other materials. It is also a sustainable fabric. Use the delicate or hand wash setting on your washing machine and wash it with similar colors. Hang it to dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the area directly with a stain remover.
CHIFFON
Chiffon is a light and airy fabric, ideal for warm weather. Wash the hijab in the washing machine at 30°C (86°F) with similar colors. Hang it to dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the area directly with a stain remover.
VISCOSE
Viscose is a soft and flowy fabric that feels like silk. Because of its thickness, it’s suitable for all weather conditions, especially cold climates. Wash this hijab on the delicate or hand wash setting with similar colors. Hang it to dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the area directly with a stain remover.
SATIN
Satin is a soft, shiny, and very lightweight fabric. The care instructions are simple: it can be washed at 30°C (86°F) in the washing machine with similar colors. Hang it to dry. For makeup or oil stains, treat the area directly with a stain remover.
If you want to iron your satin hijab or other garments, make sure to use a very low temperature and iron only the non-shiny side of the satin.
